Hi guys!

My name is Erica and I'm just here to introduce myself and my first leopard gecko Mischa(hypo carrot tailed LG), whom I've owned for about 2 years and was said to be one when she was given to me as a gift. She is extremely docile and also is quite a nice companion. I absolutely adore her and would love to talk more about geckos, be it discussion or answering questions. I've also now gone through her getting very ill and we pushed through it and she is now in her peak, as far as I'm concerned.
Included are some images of mischa and also one I took of mischa on me- her regular spots where she's just chilling.

Happy to be joining your forum guys:)

Hi Erica! Welcome to the forum! Mischa too! We're glad to have you both here! Mischa looks great! What kind of illness did she have? How did you nurse her back to such great health?

She had developed an eye infection that was the result of a couple sheds remaining in her eye and she was showing signs of mouth rot when I took her to my local reptile enthusiasts at a trust reptile store in Miami. I began to notice she was under the weather and had begun to not consume food right before I took a student planned 12 day trip to Israel - and just before I left we spent some time removing shed from her eye - to which the was a cooperative sweety and even let me touch her eyes. When I came back she seemed to be getting worse, and after around 3 weeks of not eating passed and trying to feed her, I found a reptile vet in my neighborhood that I felt comfortable with. There she gave me emergency food supplements that I began feeding mischa with- using a syringe and the worlds most patience. She also gave me some general eye drops and a oral antibiotic. After one week of force feeding she began to develop her natural appetite back and finally ate after almost a month and a half of NOTHING. After that and since then she is the most bright I have seen her in terms of color, good sheds and poops, and clarity in her eyes. Her appetite has also remained very healthy since this all began mid June 2013
