I literally got her a few hours ago and ive been told by the pet owner the 5-10 is what she is supposed to eat. She looks really skinny and small for a 3 year old and allowed her to eat until she was full but she is not full yet and she ate 20 mealworms. i am seriously concerned about this...im looking at her right now and she's looking for more. the mealworms are almost an inch in size.

Welcome to GF. Leopard geckos generally eat what they need, which could be 5 mealworms one night and 25 another night. On rare occasions they overdo it and will usually regurgitate and then "learn their lesson". Just give her what she wants and keep an eye on her.

Sounds like she was probably fed once a week, hopefully not less. Some breeders don't feed as often to reduce cleaning. 20 mealworms is more than enough for a day. You can feed her again tomorrow, and the next day, and the next.... :)

Thank you :) I was told she ate maybe 5 every other day though she shared the large tank with 7 other gecko's. I decided to give her about 8 every other day and watch how much weight she gains. I know i should have variety and my parents dont really like the idea of other insects other than mealworms. What do you think i should give her with mealworms as the main food? the petstore has just about everything. Horned worms? crickets? dubia? though the dubia is most expensive a little more than a dollar a roach.

Most of my adults eat dubias, but a few eat mealworms. They'll eat anywhere from 20-60 worms a week. If she needs to gain weight, let her eat what she wants now and then slowly cut back when she gets to a healthy size.
