Look what I found the sad part its not the one I been waiting on but I'll take it. This lil girls parents are Tang (tangerine het tremper) and Coco (tremper jungle snow ph raptor) Now would you call her a tremper or a tremper snow? She has a lot of white and her dads orange is coming through nicely. She is just so cute.:main_thumbsup: P6270253.jpg P6270252.jpg P6270251.jpg P6270249.jpg P6270246.jpg

Congrats on your first baby! I don't think she is a snow. She looks a little too bright to be one unless her parents are super bright?

Hope I'm not the bearer of super bad news but it looks like her eyelids may be a bit underdeveloped and she may have an abdominal hernia. She may have just hatched a bit early but I would keep her in a tub with a clean and extra damp paper towel for a few days to prevent the rest of her yolk from drying out or adhering to the towel and keep a good eye on her. It may be a good idea to a different incubation medium like organic perlite or vermiculite or suspend the eggs above the damp moss somehow. The moss is hard to get the the right amount of moisture in and it looks really wet. Some of your other eggs look too wet as well and if they have too much moisture touching them it can cause deformities or death for the hatchlings as the eggs will absorb the extra and bloat. I've read posts by a few other people that said they felt the humidity level in those single cell containers was a bit difficult to control overall as well. Good luck with the rest of your babies! Let us know how she does!!

Ok The egg in the pic were she just hatched is about to hatch if thats what your talking about. The eggs are on vermiculite but my geckos lay in moss. Thats what you seeing. In the pic were she is in the box that spot on her eye is a picse of vermiculite. She was blinking earlyer and her eye lids looked fine. That Lil bit that was hanging dropped off her. I put her in a tub with a wet paper towle and a small hide. I checked on her earlyer and she was running around the tub. Her parents are pretty bright here are pics of parents. Dad is the Tang het tremper mom is the tremper jungle snow. These are old pics of them. What do you think now snow or not. O and please correct me on anything you said I'v never had a baby gecko before. lol coco.jpg Tang2.jpg

I'm talking about the bottom picture in your original post. That does not look like any vermiculite I've ever seen in the box with the baby gecko and the egg. I use perlite so maybe I just haven't seen a lot of it? The stuff I've seen has looed like little squares of shiny brown and that looks like it has leaves and white stuff in it. I might google some pictures of vermiculite and see what you think.

It's organic crushed vermiculite. I got it form a garden center. You do see moss my geckos lay in moss so there is always some on the eggs. I did check her eye lids and there is a very slight deformity on the very front part of the lid. I can guess what caused that tho I had trouble with my incubator when my first few eggs were layd. That's prob what caused it I would say.

I can see the eyelid/eye issue, too. I hope it ends up being ok. Congrats on the baby. I'm not real sure on the snow part. It can be hard to tell sometimes with the albinos. You might be able to tell after hatching some more from the same parents.

Ok and thanks. As of now she is still running around just fine. So I think she will be fine. Do you think the eye lids will fix them selves or will she always have this prob? I think yall are right on the snow maybe the next one will be. Her hatch mate is still cooking. KME thank you and I will update pics as she grows I can't wait for your egg to hatch to.

If the eye deformity is very slight it shouldn't be a problem. I had one that actually got to a fairly good size before I even noticed it. Keep an "eye" on it, and if it starts looking crusty, or the gecko has trouble keeping it open, just get a drop of clean water on your finger and drip it over the eye to keep it hydrated. I've had good success with hatchlings with more significant eye problems that have done well with this treatment.
