I think my feelings are hurt more than my finger.
My sweet Mojo chopped down on my index finger, and would not let go. It didn't hurt, until he started the alligator roll. It bled pretty good!!
My fault....I had him in the wading pool with Amber. He starting going after her, and she was waving the tail. So, I scooped him up, and he very slowly stuck his nose against my finger, and then the chomp.

I still have jaw marks from that little sucker. Almost a perfect circle. I think he was planning on taking a plug out of my finger!!
Surprised and scared me, so as the saying goes...I had to get back in the saddle. I have handled him since, and he is fine.

How old and how big is he/her? Just like to know the damage they can do, as im new to owning a leo, i handle him daily but too scared to pick him up in case he bites. I let him walk on my hand then i handle him. When i do try to scoop him he runs, but when i do get him on my hand he great and shows no aggression not in slightest. I can even clench hand all round him so he cant move and he dosent even try to move. Just need the confidence to first scoop him.

Don't be afraid...leos are very docile, and tolerate handling.
I was just being careless, and not paying attention to the fact that he was near a female, and I interrupted his plans..LOL!! He is only 8 months, but a hefty 78 grams. He is a very laid back boy, except when there is a girl around...I found that out..LOL!!
99% leos will "flight" before "bite" under normal circumstances. My skittish Blizzards even tolerate me. I just talk to them, and scoop them up.

So when they run from your hand do you leave them for few minutes or do you carry on till you got them? I dont want there tails to drop so im cautious but also cautious from biting me. Once i got them on my hand i can pick them up swap hands etc etc but it the first pick up from tank i get nervous. Any vids on how to pick up?

I just put one hand in front, and one hand behind them. If they don't walk on to my hand, I just nudge the back, and scoop them up. Then just walk them from hand to hand, I call it stair stepping :) Of course keep your hands low to the ground, just in case. I don't think they will drop their tail unless you madly chase them around the cage, or grab their tail while in flight.:D

I think the whole tail dropping thing may just vary from leo to leo, some seem more prone to it then others. Always best to practice caution and get to know your leos limits before going allout hands with them i suppose, then you can work them up to it by handling them more often.
