They arrived on Tuesday-right before the flood

Bea from ChewyChicksReptiles took advantage of the one shipping day that we had at 60/52 temps and they arrived from NY on Tuesday morning right before 10:30 am via UPS

I gave them "rainy type " names in remembrance of the flood here
Tempest-Typhoon and Torrent

Here are their first pics here which I took tonight
All 3 are still babies-I love them already!!
sorry about the pic quality-I will get better ones next week

Aww, how cute. So gargoyles have less of the "lashes" & crests than the cresties do? Is there any truth to them being more tame than cresties? They look like little alligators to me. Great names for them & I'm glad they made it safely through the flooding.

Thanks Jeanine-I really like them and I have wanted to keep some for a while now...
Their shipping arrival could not have been better -with both the temps and the flood
That was a very narrow 24 hour shipping window and I bet that all of the carriers were swamped with reptiles that day

Weill-as for them being more tame than Crestie's -I don't know yet

One of the females decided to jump right out of the tub that I put her in but then she had been cooped up in the deli cup for the trip here

I do suspect that like all Rhacs they like to jump

:D

I don't handle my lizards much-once per week maybe and my Cresties are fairly calm critters when I am handling them

Now my Tokay-she is a different story-lol

Very cool! Can you tell me something about how to care for them?
I am interested in buying one. I love this species :main_yes:

Thanks so very much for the compliments Theo and Jason

The only advice that I can offer right now would be to read all that you can on the Rhac forums and to buy the "Rhac Bible"
Rhacodactylus: The Complete Guide to their Selection and Care

These guys are kept as you would keep Crestie's will no additional heat in homes that are in the lower 70's day and high 60's night
As with Crested's misting/humidity is very important to keep them hydrated
I am feeding CGD and very small crickets

I really can't comment much based on personal experience because I have only had them one week-but I am really thrilled with them

At this time I am keeping them exactly as their breeder did -in tubs
I will most likely want to move them into aquariums later

I got a few new pics as I was checking on them last night and I was really amazed at how much that their color has come out since their arrival last week
The male is looking really interesting and it is going to be really fun to see what he ends up looking like as he is really small/young
I'm afraid that the bend at the end of his tail is my fault-I caught the tip of it when I was closing the lid on the tub-it's a first for me and I feel really bad about it
Time will tell as to whether it straightens back out
