Frogs are more like fish, it's best to look but not touch. Handling will be needed once in a while for general inspections and stuff, but other than that they should not be handled. It causes stress as well as can harm them healthwise. WTF's are good frogs, as are FBT's.

Yeah frogs aren't an animal to handle, although out of all frogs a White's would be the best for that. However you said she wants a smallish one? Then a white's isn't the best, they get up to 5 inches and get to be pretty wide around as well. If she wants something small and easy to care for I would suggest a green tree frog, they get 2-3 inches I think. Or fire bellied toads, they are also a good option.

Get a pixie or a Pacman frog those are both my favorites and they both are quite mean

The OP said something small. That being said, they are my favorites as well. :main_yes:

don't get one, they die.

i just got a red-eyed tree frog not long ago and had it three days before it "croaked"
you really have to be careful about all the details because they're pretty fragile as i found out the hard way.

Yeah red eyes are actually a fairly hardy frog, I've had some raised from babies for a year now, easy care, your's was prob wild caught and had parasites like I stated in your topic about your red eye.

Well this is partially true. ALL animals die. RETF are pretty hardy frogs for the most part. No animals just up an die for no reason at all. There is always a cause of death whether it be husbandry related, bacteria, fungi, parasites, or a host of other problems.
