Hey guys. My Blizzard Eclipse Luna just finished laying her eggs, but I've noticed for the last week or so she's putting out diarrhea instead of formed stool. She's still very fat, didn't show signs of this when I got her and quarantined her, and she's still eating and active. There is no undigested insect parts in the stool, just liquid stool. First time I saw it I thought one of her eggs burst inside and she was just eliminating the contents, but she's still got it. Any ideas?

Nobody can chime in here? From what I'm reading, and from a bit of blood I saw in the defecatoria, I'm guessing she has coccidia. I'm going to separate her out tomorrow and disinfect the main cage. I haven't seen this before out of her, she was stooling normally when she came home.

I know don't much about this but if it's runny and has blood PLEASEE take her a vet ASAP! My gecko was like for 2-3days then she stopped eating then died before I was able to make it to the vet! Hopefully the vet can figure out the problem and possibly give you some medication or give you tips on what you can do before it's too late.

Going to the vet tomorrow (pay day). Hoping he can hook me up with some abx to get her better. It's my blizzard eclipse. I took her out of my 50 gal breeder that has my other geckos in it and set her up in a 10gal sick tank. I cleaned my big tank, used alcohol swabs from work and wiped down the area they use as the bathroom, and then actually did some upgrading :D . I've got her set up with the bare essentials so I can keep a close eye on her. Thankfully she's still somewhat fat, but since she just laid eggs, she's looking a bit skinnier and her tail is getting that 'deflated' but still fat look to it. I'm going to give her a pinky tomorrow. That's the other good news, she's still eating.

I would try cleaning the enclourse and food dish and water and change the nest box sub. Is she on paper towles ? Is she on worms ? Crickets? Wax worms? How old is your cal.? How humid? Temp? All this stuff can be a element the food sourse is mostly why mine get it once in a blue moon if you are real weirded out take a stool sample to the vet thats the easy way but, still clean the enclourse real good and dont let it build up. I was told that cal. only has a shelf life of 6 months or so. Have you switched food sourses ? when was the last time she was dewormed ? I was told 2 times a year. I hope everthing turns out ok for her thx

I do a combo of mealworms, crickets, occasional wax worms. She's had this now for atleast 2 weeks. The main habitat is completely setup for them, but she's now in a paper-towel tank with a few hides and a UTH.

Could you get a pic of the poo? My gecko might be having the same thing. It just started last night so I don't think I need to take any precautions just yet.

I wouldn't wait on it. Weird thing is, I put her back in a quarantine tank, and she had a normal stool. I've watched her have diarrhea a few times, and now it's normal. Weird.

Well, I took her to the vet today with a stool sample. They ran all the tests, said it was negative. The doc said that because she was still fairly new to her environment, and the fact that she just finished laying eggs, might suggest stress-induced diarrhea. He gave me a vial of de-wormer for my entire colony as maintenance and otherwise gave her the clear bill of health. I'm still going to keep a close eye on her though.
