So, now that each of my females has eggs in the incubator, I feel like they each deserve a little introduction to the world...
This is Yeti. He was my first gecko and I got him last September at only a few months old. When we put the girls in with him in January, I was still sure he was too young to breed, but boy, did he prove me wrong! Now he's almost fully grown and an absolutely gorgeous Mack snow, with just a hint of yellow. He's a ladies' man and definitely a little cocky but he's still my little buddy.
This is Spot (named by my boyfriend). She was sold to us as a Diablo Blanco, but I'm 99.9% sure now that she's a blizzard eclipse. It's a shame though, because the Diablo would've suited her better. She's our fiesty girl, and has even bitten both of us at least a dozen times, usually while going after food, but once when I nearly dropped her and may have grabbed on a little too hard... (boy, if I didn't LET her bite me. Much deserved.) She's my only girl to actually produce a little one (she's V's mom) so I'm very proud of her. She let me know a few weeks ago that she didn't like boys anymore, so Yeti got his own new tank. I think he likes his bachelor pad though...
This precious girl is Notspot. She's a super snow giant, and "sister" to Spot. We got both pretty girls for the price of one at Repticon in Baltimore in January 2014. The lady selling them told us that Spot was barely a year old and Notspot was a year and a half. She has a lump on her tail that just seems to be a fatty growth but that just makes her unique. This is my calm girl, my "gentle giant." If kids want to pet my geckos, I pull this girl out. She's even gone to a few lectures with me in my sweatshirt pocket (see pic). She loves the attention.
My last big girl is Millie. She was sold to me as simply a "jungle" but I'm not entirely sure what her morph is. She's my newest momma, and hasn't even laid her first clutch yet. Keep your fingers crossed. Millie still doesn't like to be picked up, but I'm working with her almost every day. She's the adventurer of the ladies and loves to climb up on top of her half - hide (one of the "caves" that you push against the glass to watch the geckos inside).
And finally, there's baby V. Hatched on 6/14, he's my first baby. He's becoming a beast, gaining about a tenth of a gram every day. He's a brave fella (or lady) and readily climbs into my hand to get his vitamin and get weighed.
