Hi all,
Its been a while since i'v been in the forum, been injured and had some surgeries in my knees ( been playing to much basketball :main_evilgrin:) im half way to be okay :main_yes: and still smilling :D.
Anyway i decided to take it to the next level and build my leo (Paris ) new home, and by that i mean to build everything by myself to match exactly to my wills.
and i wanted it to be special and unique, so i got all the materials i thought i'd need ( of course i came up with new ideas during the process so i had to restock with new materials) and started working, it took me about 2 months to complete the whole thing, since from one hand i had alot of free time without working or studing because of the 2 surgeries u had the past 7 months, but i had only 2-3 hours a day to put in the project ( the rest of the day i was busy with physiotherapy) and some days i didnt have time at all, so who ever thinking of starting a project like this, i'd say GO FOR IT , its really not that hard.
Long story short, the main materials used in this project were dental cast (which is amazing and super strong) for the background. floor tiles and for coating the exterior fake rocks and for coating the hiding places which made out of polyurethane foam ( e.g - Great Stuff).
I also cutted some pieces of the 0.4 mm glass at home and some, i went to a place to cut them for me.
the orange lite is a spot like bulb but inside there are 40 little led bulbs, so this "spot" never gets hot and cant cause injury in any way:main_thumbsup: the size of the terrarium is 55cm depth by 55cm wide by 45 cm high.
under the terrarium there's a zoo med medium UTH and there are 2 thermometers (which are not seen in the pics) a cold dry hide and a double hot humid hide.
thats about it, i documented the whole process of the making and have over 100 pics of the creation and if ppl ask, i'll make a tutorial.
so here are the pics, enjoy and i hope you like it :main_laugh:

Very awesome creation you got there. Your english is fine. Any mistakes you made werent to horrible. lol
I am just curious what you made the bottom of your cage out of? are they lose pieces of cut tile or is it one solid piece? And how hard is the bottom to clean?
I am just amazed at how nice this looks. I love how you incorporated the rocks into the stand that holds your cage.

NO prob about the English, mine isn't so good either and it's my mother tongue! Cool set up! This is the most creative set up I've seen so far! Excellent craftmanship!!

Oh wow!!!!! That is awesome!!! :D I'm into artsy stuff too and am considering making a custom setup for me gecko at some point. I would definately be interested in reading a tutorial! I'm especially interested in how you go the background to look like that! And the floor is just too cool! (Or really hot depending on where it is, I guess. :p) Very, very nice! But one question; how do you clean it? Is all that stuff removable?

Oh, and I, too, would like to see some pics of your leo enjoying his new home!

Hi all,
First, i want to thank all of you for the nice replies. Its nice to see that ppl appreciate my efforts and like my work :)
@ Haligren - everything is removable, its really easy to clean, its like a puzzle. I made everything in consideration that i'll have to take it out and clean ( thats one of the reasons it took me so long to complete this project, i had to involve alot of thinking into the making process).

@ Crazygecko - the bottome tiles are made by me out of dental cast, i actually built a square Template to match the size of the terrarium bottom and poured the dental cast into it and while it was curing i carved the shapes of the tiles and left it to complete curing ( like i said everything is hand made :)). underneath the tiles there's about 1.5 inch of sand for proper conductivity of heat and actually lower the surface temps in about 10 degrees. Like i metioned above its really easy to clean.
