Hello everyone, im new here but not new to leopard geckos. I've had 6 or 7 and loved them all.

I lost most of them over the years. Nia is my last, however today we bought another one today,
sex unknown, not to sure on morph. Got the little guy from pet co. It is very active moves a lot and is nice sized tail.

Wanting to know the breed if anyone can tell me.

I'm thinking Blizzard with the normal pattern? I dont know lol, i know my other one is somewhat of a carrot tail.

Anyone want to give a shot on the morph, asked other people on another forum no reply yet, guess they dont post a lot. :main_laugh:

From the little dots on it, I would say that's a Murphy Patternless. It will become a bright, pastel lemon-like patternless gecko with a white tail when it's an adult. The spots will vanish. I've never hatched a Blizzard baby, but I would think those are entirely gray and don't have dots. I might be wrong here, so let's wait for other posts!

I wouldn't put the little one together with Nia, who is a big strong gecko :main_thumbsup: She might bother the baby, or eat all its food away. Both look healthy and nice. But especially since you got the baby from a pet store, you need to quarantine it in a separate cage for at least a month, to observe whether it eats and poops and develops okay. Pet shop geckos sometimes come with parasites due to mass housing. I made this experience already, so don't be fooled by a healthy-looking tail in the beginning!

Quarantine is VERY important! Also, you cannot sex the baby yet, so it might be a male; therefore, it should be separate anyway until you know what it is. You probably don't want to breed a Blizzard or a Murphy Patternless with a Tangerine Carrot Tail later.

Have fun with your geckos! Make sure to post some pics when the little one is a bit bigger, so we can see how it has grown and developed :main_yes:

Here's a picture of what your Murphy will look like when grown up:

I mean that yellow leo that's climbing over the Red Stripe and treading on her head :main_laugh:

i second what LZRDGRL said about quarantining.
Its important to keep them at a big a distance as possible and always wash your hands after handling the new one. keep a close eye on it and look out for signs of illness or health issues.

Also they shouldnt be housed together since sex unknown and also the fact that the big one could maul the little one to pieces if there ever was a fight between them and you dont want that.

And it definitely a murphy patternless, though patternless usually are yellow even as hatchlings so... might be a patternless snow..?

That pic above is an albino patternless too, but your will look the same pretty much.
And thats a pretty good looking patternless i must say lol

Thanks for the information I'll do that. Another thing is the way you call it a patternless, ive had one before, she was my first, however this little guys color is way to blue/purple, there is no brown or orange.

I haven't found a picture of a young murphy patternless like mine.

+1 for sure. Quarantine is major important esp. with pet shop bought leos. A little too late now tho as any disease is likely already spred since they've been together. Also I would def. worry about the larger possibly bullying the little one. Wouldn't take much for a biggie like that to squash the lil guy.

Pretty leo tho... I like the patternless ones.

Sorry everyone about not separating them early, totally forgot to do it, don't know how it crossed my mind, anything happens though I'm near many many vets.

About nia bulling the little guy, I'm none to worried, she like him was introduced to two big fellows, venus a albino and jesse a patternless. They treated her so nice, and as the years went on, i got zeke, and he was with nia and venus and oh my god they were like moms!

Here is some pictures. :main_thumbsup:

Here is nia when she was real young.

hmm, them pictures look more like theyre climbing over each other for the best spots and squashed together trying to get the heat.
I dont think majorly different sized geckos should ever be put together.

You may not see the bullying it may be happening at night. but the climbing over each other is not a sign of affection, its trying to get the best spot or bullying.
geckos dont show affection and they dont like each other, they are solitary animals and thrive when alone.
Geckos getting along is more like geckos ignoreing each other. and in this case they dont look like theyre ignoring each other.
Im sorry to say that.

the geckos seem very overweight too. especially in the 4th pic (one on left), 6th pic (one on the far right) and 8th pic (the one at the top). The patternless, and the albino look a bit too round. IMO

Thanks for that info there. The weird thing with my leos, when i did decide to remove them and put them in different cages, they started getting slimmer, not being as active as much, and not acting what i would consider normal.

Back when i took these pictures, i stayed up late nights, so a lot of my time spent with them was at night.

Zeke and nia are very plump for being raised with two large plump geckos. So im guessing there was never bullying over food. I'm guessing they were used to living with others and somewhat enjoyed the others company, im sure im not the only one who sometimes sees this in their geckos.

I know there could have been bullying, laying on each other and stuff, but neither seemed to mind, if any, the little guy would be ontop of the bigger one, neither minding or getting angry at all.

I guess my leos are weird. :main_yes:

Well i have to say im glad you didnt take my comment as offensive, and you took it the right way. thank you.

Well, whatever you think is best for your geckos and what will keep them at good health, however dont make them obese.
obesity in geckos has the same effects as it does in humans, strain on heart and what not.
so just be careful.

As long as you are aware of the dangers and what i mentioned in the last post then its up to you and im sure oyu know your leos better than me lol.
Good luck :)

I think it's pretty fascinating seeing an animal that is suppose to be non-communal actually not only tolerate communal living but seem to somewhat enjoy it. I know that's humanizing their feelings, but they do look happy imo (well as happy as a leo can look I guess).

I think as long as they're aware and prepared for the day one decides they've had enough then it should be ok.

You guys are very nice.

Jordan dont worry I understand where you were coming from and I definitely understand, if they dont like each others company I have another cage ready.

I enjoy advice and also do not get very bothered by what people say, i listen, not argue. :main_thumbsup:

Will have a picture of him soon, he shed last night.

By the way to let you know, I only have two leopard geckos now, my others that you have seen have passed on. They lived great lives and had them for years, I'll give this little guy a good life.
