I'm a newbie to leopard geckos, but I have fell in love with them. I'm planning on starting me a breeding colony. Here is what I have now:

Female (I Think) Patternless (genes unkown came from local pet shop):

Pretty geckos :main_thumbsup: Are those first two pics the same gecko.. before and after shots? Just concerned about that stuck shed (skin) on the toes and tail...

No those first two were took the same time. The shed has came all the way off. I put a box with warm damp paper towels in her cage and she got in there for a day and it came off. Should there be a big concern about her shed not coming all the off? Any info and advice will be much appreciated. Thanks!

Ya be concerned with and shed skin that doesn't come off. On the toes and tail, the skin can dry out and cause restricted blood flow and could possibly cause the toes to "fall off" basically. Skin left on the body can get bacteria and cause you problems there.

If you see your geckos not shedding all the way just soak them in some luke warm water for 5 or 10 minutes then try pulling off the skin with your fingers or a cue tip. Just make sure you get all of it.

You can and should have humid hides in the tanks to allow the geckos to go into when they need. Just get a small plastic container, cut a hole in it and put some moist paper towels or moss in it. Sounds like you have been doing a good job as it is. Keep it up and good luck with your breeding.

Ok Thanks! I'm learning so all advice is appreciated. I do now have a moist hide in her cage. The pet shop we have here is a joke. They tried to get me to buy heat rock and cypress as a bedding. They never said nothing about moist hides or humidity. But since then I have studied up and have her set the way she should be. And I give thanks to this forum for a lot og info. Again all advice is welcomed as I'm learning. Thanks!!

Yes I am very prepared. She has everything she needs. I am so prepared I'm sorta like a kid on Chrisrmas Eve. First season breeding and can't wait. That is why I only have a single pair, trying to get some experience under my belt before I dive all the way in. I've been studing up on the proper way to breed for a couple months now. I want to do it right no cutting any corners, and that is the way I'm doing it. Thanks for caring! :D :main_thumbsup:
