My male has darkened in color?

When I first got my male, Monty, about 3 years ago, he was a bright orange. He has gradually gotten darker and I wonder if this was due to a heating/lighting or stress issue. The cage generally stays about 82-85 degrees during the day. I rarely handle him and I feed him proper calcium supplements.

Any idea what causes this?

I've seen this kind of browning out before. I think it's a combination of age and possibly mood, heat and lighting. I have a female I produced 6 years ago that was never as bright as yours, but she can range from lemon yellow to dull brown during the course of a season. I'm hoping your 80-85 temps are air temps and not floor temps. If they're floor temps they need to be higher and possibly the gecko will get brighter.
