AHHH.... well day three and no more heel pricks for Seth for at least 2 weeks. The bilirubin levels have gone down from 15.7 to 13.9 which is really good news. I really feel like a shit now for making jokes about keeping the baby in a 30 gal. :) Thats where he would have eventually ended up had the bilirubin levels not decreased. The funny part about the levels going down so rapidly in a day, is that I kept my florescent light from my beardies on him from the waist down yesterday. The doctor got a good laugh and said to just continue doing whatever we've been doing. Again thank you all for your well wishes it's been immensely appreciated.

Great news, Ian! :D I am glad Seth is doing better! My son had a very mild case - they told us to put him in a sunbeam in just a diaper. Fortunately, that was all we had to do. I love the beardie light idea!

That's all we did for the first two days but, nearly no sunshine comes through the only window in the house that actually gets some. I know that the ultra violate rays shine through irregaurdless however it just wasn't enough. I was very reluctant at first to put the light on him when I realized that I've had the bulb for nearly 6 months which is around the time when the ultra violate begins to weaken if it's still throwing off any at all. So I asked the doctor first. I wouldn't reccomend doing this without consulting your pediatricians first.
