On Sunday, I had the chance to see the setup of a local breeder, that lives about 5 minutes away from me (Wright Reptiles). He had some amazing snakes, and what really attracted me where his dumeril boa adults. They were BIG, but also very docile, and BEAUTIFUL!
Since I have a honduran milk, I wanted another snake that grew larger and was still docile!
Sure enough he had a few late 07's he could sell me. I went ahead and purchased an amazing 07 male!
He's really good looking already and his head is full of pink highlights!!! The breeder fed him in front of me and he's a furotious little one when it comes to food :main_thumbsup:
Anyways, I was reading up on them before I purchased my guy, actually even before my milk. If you have any suggestions or tips please let me know!
My set-up:
*44" long enclosure, 6" tall.
*1" Aspen bedding.
*Nice big water bowl he can soak in.
*Two hides (one humid with green moss, and the other right next to the humid hide, both right on-top of the heat pad). He stays in the humid hide most of the day, once I did see him next to his water dish on the cool end. Was thinking about adding another normal hide on the cool end...I would like opinions on this.
*Flukers Jumbo heat pad (11x29") I purchased this one because it gives off more heat, and it was big enough for my cage
*On the hot end during the day its in the high 90's (97 right now) cool end high 70's. At night the heat pad doesn't go off, but the temps do go down, it was 91 last night, and in the cool end mid to low 70's.
*The room he's in gets a LOT of light during the day, so he gets his natural day/night cycles.
Thats about it set-up wise. ALL help is much appreciated! I want the very best for my pets
