6 hours after I got it, it did its first poo, and it ws so smelly!

I have left it in peace between 1am and 6pm today and it seems ok, ( i spent more time setting up a daphnia and baby brine culture kit for my tropical fish instead, i certainly went into unknown teritory there with trying to raise fry food - those who have fish will know what i am talking about!) its has done 3 more poo and its eyes are open. I moved the smelly poo covered kitchen towel away, cant believe it so smelly, my living room is starting to smell like its me thats done a poo on the carpet instead.

I went out brielfly and tried to get some live food, but all they has was locusts, i got a tub of medium size locusts and have popped three of them into the tank, but it has made no attempt to eat them.

They freak me out more than crickets, they can jump and run away, when i opened the tub a small crack a locust jumped on my face, was not a pleasant experience.

anyone know what breed my leo is?

He looks like a Mack Snow. Normally, his feces shouldn't be very smelly (just a little smelly). Otherwise, it might be a sign of parasite infestation. If his tail doesn't get bigger soon (with all he eats), I would run a fecal sample by the vet, just in case. He seems to be a good eater, but smelly poo is a bit worrysome. It shouldn't smell "good," but not like you did it on the carpet :main_rolleyes: It also shouldn't look runny, but like this.

Pretty gecko, though! :main_thumbsup:

Trouble is what i find smelly you might not, so i suppose its just figuing out what is classed as smelly. A hot mat under recent poo can never smell good.

The latest poo was slightly wet but not exactly runny either, was solid to some degree but still wet.

Its only a day old in its new home so its probably still nerves.

The good thing is its found its regular toilet spot!

I still think it looks younger than 2 months. the shop and staff was not exactly good, will certainly never go back. The staff member seemed annoyed that i said it looked small for 2 months. giving me the i know more than you look.
I may have never have had a lizard before but i know it looks young and underfed. I would rather take care of it than a shop that probably does not.
