I will admit this was kinda a impulse buy because I wasn't planning on getting one till Juneish. But, I did some research before getting him so it shouldn't be too bad.

If anyone has any info on Leopard Gecko that would be really great :D

Also do you know if he is a morph or something?

I just put his wax worms in his tank. I added the calcium too BTW. Do I just leave the worms in the bowl and wait till he wants to eat them or do I try using my thongs to feed it to him. I have two snakes so this is new to me :p. If I am suppose to leave it. How long do I leave them in there if he does not eat them all?

I've been leaving my geckos' food in the tank overnight, taking them out in the morning... mostly because they don't eat as soon as I put the food in... =S they don't always eat them all, so I know they're probably getting as many as they need. as for using wax worms, I think those are kinda fatty and shouldn't be used as a staple. Try some delicious mealworms! 8D mealworms are super easy to raise in a small space so you can have free food all the time ^^ As long as some of the food is gone by morning, I'm confident that they ate. Some people put the gecko in a separate area to eat, or their geckos come running at dinner time to eat so they only have food out for 10 minutes. Mine aren't so friendly yet, still pretty new.

Big piece of advice, don't pick them up for a week, but keep your hand in there for a little bit every day, near them so they can smell/lick you and get used to you. ^^

haha! snakes and geckos are completely different, and I had to learn too! (used to breed rosy boas) but think of waxworms as treats for very special occasions, as they are nothing but pure fat really. try crickets, mealworms, or dubia roaches as staples instead. what supplements are you using, and how often?

Do you mean supplements as in the calcium? I use ReptiCalcium from Zoomed. I do have meal works but the people at the place I got him said to use the wax worms because I got them for free and they die quickly .

Need to use a multi-vitamin also. Repashy Calcium Plus is awesome. Just dust every insect with it and that's it! No need for extra supplements and stuff. Ozy will come when I call her and eat off the tongs... She's spoiled. lol

No it doesn't have D3. I'll go to a local pet shop after school to see if they have it. He didn't eat any of the worms last night. I left the worms in the dish till after school. Is there anyway to help him eat them ? Should I try meal worms? Maybe he doesn't like waxworms

yeah, its usually very unlikely that new geckos will eat right away. it can take days, or even more than a week for a gecko to get used to its surroundings! try leaving him alone for a few days, and then try introducing a small bowl of mealworms dusted with the d3, and leave the bowl there over night. then after he starts eating regularly, dust the food with d3 every other night, leave a bowl of the plain calcium in his tank, and dust his food once a week with a multivitamin. this is the method I use anyways, and I have 66 and 73 gram geckos to show for it! I hope this works, and helps! good luck to you an your new gecko, and ill always try to answer any other questions you have!:D

Can I just leave the wax worms in the small bowl till they die or get eaten? He prob isnt gonna get the multivitamin because the pet store doesn't have it so I'll get it in a reptile expo on november 24 or should I get it sooner?
