My Rescued Female.. *Help*

All went well with the vet, I was told they both need more weight ( which I'm already aware of ) but..

The female weighed in at 68 grams and the male weighs 52 grams

I brought home some meal worms. Large and small. Neither of them know what to do with a meal worm, they run after to it, poke it and follow it around until they become bord, then go back to their cave.

So I really dont know what to do at this point?

Any advice?

Have you tried feeding crickets to stimulate their hunger? And have they passed stool??

I know for my one leo crickets made her start eating, and now she won't stop haha. If they don't eat, don't stress because they do need to settle in in their new environment. Just make sure the food isn't too big. And how are the temps?? did you get those adjusted?

My 2 new leos I got last weekend have no ideal what a meal worm is either but when I put dusted crickets in there, my albino bell starts hunting them down.
Its good too hear the vet said they are good.

Warm side/ 95 Cool Side 83

I upped their bulb to a 75 watt. The 60 just wasnt working.

Ok, I will grab some (small?) crickets tomorrow?

~Also~ the female is ALOT closer to laying then I thought she was. And looks as though I'm going to need an incubator soon. So I'd like to make one tonight. ( My order for heat tape isnt going to be in, in time ) So I have to make an emergency Incubator.. Any idea's?

You will have better luck with feeding (In my opinion) If you use belly heat, (under tank heater) They just seem to eat better like this, wouldnt be that big of a deal if they were eating good anyway. As a side note the light most likelly stresses them out even more, leos like it dark, and would prefer to not see anything lol. put some newspaper on the sides of the tank so they cant see out. that helps alot sometimes.

The temps, sound good. just make sure you keep an eye on them. And small crickets are too small. I feed my two med. crickets. If a cricket is too small it may be very hard to catch. And i have no idea on how to make an incubator. Sorry.

yellermelon: Oh ok, if I did away with the lights, how would I maintain the temp inside the tank :) Sorry for all the silly questions :D

Thanks guys!

Ok !! So their ARE like snakes. I can use UTH's for heating purposes. And maybe a dim light just for display purposes during the day?

Awesome! :)

Yeah, using a heating pad suplies them with belly heat. Which means they can thermal regulate their body temps. This aids in digestion.

I use the infared lights in all of our tanks and don't seem to mind it at all. Our herp vet also ok the occasional pinkie mouse with it's rump dunked in calcium powder for our 2 scrawney female rescues.
