I just got these little guys and want to know if my set up is okay.

Tank in cm 60 45 45 = L,W,H
Light Repta Sun Red light 100 watt.
Under tank heater
Two hides 1 moist 1 dry
Food bowl
Water bowl
Substrate card board

OK now a few questions.
1. Is red light or black light better?
2.best temps? mine is 40c on the side that has the UTH and 34c under the light middle is 29c
3.which side do I put the hides moist on hot or worm?
4.What kinds of CA powder do you use brand names and can you get it online some times things are hard to find here.

Thanks for the help

1. Either is fine. I like the ExoTerra moonglo lights myself as it looks more like actual moonlight.

2. Your temps sound a little high on the warm side. But I'm not good with Celcius (which sucks 'cause I live in Canada now.) 40c is over 100F isn't it? Everyone will tell you different things about heating but I find that this works best for me: warm side = 85F, cool side 75F (thereabouts), over UTH = 92F. Some say 95F is best but I've had no problems with these numbers.

3. Moise hides should stay in the middle. Too much heat can cause bacterial growth which may cause things such as lung infections. You might want to consider getting a third hide to put on the cool side too. Just a thought. :)

4. I use Fluker's Repti-calcium, and I've had no problems with it. I'm seriously thinking about getting some of the vitamin/calcium-mixed stuff called Rep-Cal I think. I forget who makes it. >.< You'll probably have to order it though online.

And I'm sure your leos appreciate you making sure they're comfortable. :)

I don't think you need a light since you have a UTH

If you want a light to keep up the air temp, I think an infrared bulb is better. As Cassandra mentioned already, your temps on the warm side is a little too high; the warm end shouldn't exceed 35C, and the cool end around 26-27C.

It gets so cold in my basement sometimes, when I'm looking at that thermometer it makes me wish there was enough room for me in that tank too. lol
