ok, so despite my best efforts, the wee guy didnt make it. He was just too weak and had lost the will to carry on I think. My breeder is going to get a post-mortum, so hopefully we can find out what went wrong. Thanks for all the help and advice, it is much appreciated :main_thumbsup:

Get some crested diet and a q tip. Mix the crested diet so it is semi runny. Dip the q tip in this and smear along his/her mouth. He/she will lick it off. Do this twice a day. you may want to soak him to re hydrate him as well. About a centimeter of like warm water overnight. I used this method with a gecko that escaped for 6 months. She was in very bad condition when I found her. This worked wonders and she made a full recovery. Big and fat..
Note: you do not have to hold them to do this. The least stress the best.

I just read the last post. That stinks...

Sorry to hear that he passed. :( Curious though..what condition was he in when you bought him?

Any good breeder wouldn't sell a gecko like that, not saying he was THAT bad when you got him, but.... Most breeders also will reccomend seperate housing.

he was in exactly the same condition as the other one, which has thrived. There must have been a defect somewhere, I guess the post mortum will tell us more. I have complete faith in the breeder that they would never have sold it if they had known there was a problem. They are taking financial responsibility for the PM, and will refund/replace if the results show that there was an issue when i got him. I seperated them as soon as I realised there was a problem.

you may want to have your gecko tested to make sure that it doesnt have whatever the post-mortum shows. Even though it is thriving because they were housed together there could be some hidden problem with it to.
