hi i have 5 leopard geckos 1 male 4 female 3 of them are adults and two are around 7-8 months old . they use to shred all the time and seem to be growing fast now they seem to of not grown for a while and nore shred i make sure i see them eat but is hard to do so every single day. does any one have any ideas to why they have slowed down growing ? maybe the other geckos are takin most the food ??? theres allways plenty of live food in there and they dont even eat them all .

There are a lot of things to consider here..
1- Are they ALL housed together?
2- What size tanks are they in?
3- What are their weights?
Some of mine stopped growing at around 7 or 8 months and shed maybe once every month or two, they shed when they lose or gain weight so if they are finished growing they may shed a couple times a year.
4- How many food dishes do you have in each tank?
There may be compitition..
5- Where are the dishes set up?
Do you have one on each side.. are they in corners or by hides?
One of my geckos will not walk past her cagemate to get her meal, she waits until he is done eating and goes back in his hide before she will come out. There is no bullying whatsoever.. but he is the dominant one and gets to eat first every time.
Btw - for next time.. this ?question? would fall under general discussion not egg incubation. =)

It might be a better idea to place the water bowl at the cool end so the water does not evaporate as quickly.
6- Have you tried feeding them mealworms in a dish? Five geckos in one tank is a LOT so it should be atleast 30 gallons with areas to climb and "escape" other geckos.

And they do go through different stages but every gecko is different so although the majority may grow on a similar scale there are always exceptions. The rate of shedding varies, check out this site and see if it helps you.. I am working right now and believe it or not this site is blocked so I can't check exactly what it says right now.. but you can :main_yes:

Try a search if it does not give you an exact answer.

A lot of my geckos slow down considerably once they reach about 40 grams. Some geckos seem to be destined to be in the 100 gram range and others in the 60 gram range. I have both kinds and there's not even a guarantee of a correlation between how much they eat and how much they grow.
