What kind of herp are you intending to use this for?

Some people would recommend not using any kind of particle substrate for leopard geckos and some would say it's OK for adults. What was described in your link sounds like a reasonable substrate (for an adult, not a juvi) if you want to take the risk of using a particulate substrate.

Just use tile/slate.. I dont get why people use sand/coco husk ect.

Its so much easier to clean.. it looks better.. holds heat alot better.
