Need advise on purchase...

Ok, hopefully soon I'll be purchasing a trio of leos. I was wondering how do other breeders make sure they aren't getting ripped off? Like what steps do you take to make sure the deal is ligit? Shows are easy. The animal is right there, you know exactly what you're getting and when. I can do shows but this is the first time I'm doing this online. Oh also, if I was purchasing this trio from a well known breeder I'll have no problem but this guy just bought them then just found out he has to move. So he doesn't have too much experience with shipping animals I dont think. Could you guys help me decide? Its probibly because it looks too good to be true, looks to perfect of a group for me *having a run of bad luck*. ALL help will be appreciated. Oh yeah heres the link for the trio in question. I think buying from anyone online you take some sorta risk, I would personally only buy from well known breeders and ask around about them before hand if you are really that worried about it.

It's hard to decide who to buy from, but if you do all the right research I think you will be ok, I know all of the breeders on this forum always get great reviews.

Looks ok to me. Just make sure he's set up to ship them properly by asking his shipping method.

everyone I have bought from online I have either known some what from here or they have a very good reputation. I have never bought from someone that no one has ever heard of.

I would buy from a well known breeder, but this offer is once in a life time kind of a thing it seems. I've been tryin to find a pretty similar trio like this for around the same price but I have found nothing. Do any of you awesome breeders have a nice trio for sale? lol. Whats also nice is all the extra goodies hes throwing in. huh... decisions... decisions... He looks like he knows how to care for them.

I would talk to him, ask him about shipping, weights, hatchdates. you can get a good idea if someone knows what they are doing or not just by asking questions.

LoL! Good luck! i'm on dial up and some websites I just can not get to work no matter what I do. I am lucky and very grateful that this website Is actually very fast compared to alot of the other sites I vist on a regular basis.

Anyway I'll keep the page up and see if it does ever load.

I recently found out ill be pcs'ing overseas and cant take my geckos with me, so here are the special guys I have. 1 male Tremper Jungle Albino Het Raptor 36g hatched 06/18/06, 1 female Tremper Jungle Albino Het Raptor w/reverse strip tail 26g hatched 06/14/06 and 1 female Tremper Giant(Moose's granddaughter) possible super giant 31g hatched 08/21/06. This lovely bunch ate good and are extremely taking care of by me and my girlfriend. Included with these guys are 2 sterilite 27quart containers with hides, feed dishes, water dishes and calcium dish bottle caps and each container has under tank heaters always set at 90 degrees. Other things im selling along with them is about 150+ mealworms, 40 silkworms, 100+ phoenix worms, about 10 waxworms, Herpatitive Multivitamin(full), Vionate(full), Cricket Gutload, and calcium powder. As you can see I had them on a variety of diets so that makes them extremely healthy and active. Herpatitive was offered twice a week and vionate three times a week along with one wax worm for each gecko every 2 weeks. Im sad to see them go and was anxious to see what happens this breeding season. Over $750 invested in them, so all im asking is $550obo plus shipping. The geckos will be shipped seperate from the rest of course. This is a great way for newbies to start up into leopard geckos. Feel free to ask me any questions. They look great to me and he seems to be taking very good care of them and has all of there information. If I were as eager as you are to get these guys I would probably go for it providing the guy seemed like he could be trusted after speaking to him.

Only advise I can give you is that if anything seems fishy don't go through with it.

This sounds strange but maybe you could ask him to email you a picture of their dirty enclosures before he cleans them so you can see that their defecations look ok. Whenever a deal seems too good to be true we always assume that it is so that was the thought that popped in to my head. They look good from the pictures though, good luck!

If you are ever in doubt then don't do it. But if you do decide to go through with it try to pay in a manner that you will be able to track him or dispute the payment. ie: paypal or check.

If I wanted them I would probably buy them, make sure to find out what his guarantees are, like like arrival when shipping
