Ok so i rescued these 2 gecko's from this guy off of craigslist that was not taking care of them at all but i wont dive into that one. So anyway i met up with the guy and he seemed in a huge rush to get rid of them so i took them and i was trying to ask him questions like what sex and he told me they are both female which i said ill check later cuz i did not really trust his knowledge. So i took them home and it was later in the evening at this point so i was like ill sex them tomorrow and get their cages set up if they are male and female to separate them.
Well today when i go to sex them i caught them mating! Yes i know i should of known better and checked them sooner. So anyway i have been looking some stuff up cuz i dont want to just toss the eggs i want them to hatch. If anyone can give me any tips or links to some good sites about gecko laying eggs and incubation i would be extremely stoked. Also biggest question is how long do i have to get all the things i need before the female will be ready to lay. Thanks again

The female could lay anywhere from 2-5 weeks from now. Do you have enclosures for a possible 16 hatchlings? Do you have an incubator? A lot of preparation is needed and required. If you do want to hatch a few out, I'd advise buying a hovabator and maybe incubating 1-3 eggs and tossing the rest. I'd also suggest some thread searches and some google searches for information.

Thanks, Russell for that info i dont have a incubator right now im looking into buying one if 100% needed if anyone have some good diy ones that are proven let me know. As far as tanks i have a small rack system which has 3 empty 16 Qt tubes in it as well as a 10 gallon tank im not sure how many i can safely home with these but i have hit up some of my friends and they said they will be willing to take some.
I want to try to keep as many eggs as i can i don't like the idea of tossing the idk just me. again thanks for the info i will be doing alot of prep work and research if anyone else has any crash course tips for me that be sweet.

I made an incubator out of a $2 styro-foam cooler with a under tank heater in the bottom hooked to a thermostat. simple and cheap since i had the extra thermostat and uth. holds temperature very well too.

The styro-foam cooler sounds like a good idea and i have seen it used before, the only question i have is what did you do for the humidity just put water in the bottom? Also how humid should it be for the gecko eggs?
