hey usually my cool side of the tank for leo's side is around 83. This is too warm. What should i do to cool it off? i think i might just take off the light, and keep the heating pad on and maybe that'll fix it because i noticed the cool side temp goes up when the light goes on each morning. Any suggestions?

The popular answer I was getting about that question is around mid to high 70's. Use the search funtion on here, there have been MANY threads about temp ranges in the past.

use the heat pad on one side of the tank alway on, have a thermostat here which switchs the mat on/off automatically @90...also have a night viewing bulb...40w blue or 25w red...they are only on for a few hours in the evening...and don't generate much heat!...hope ths helps;)

Like already said, turn off the light, leos are nocturnal and the light is usless and I have heard cases of bright lights stressing leos. I use just UTHs for my leos.

How much area of the bottom of the tank does the uth cover and what wattage is it?
If you lose the light and it's still too warm check on if you have to large of a uth for the tank
Also you might move the tank to a cooler location in he house
BTW-what sort of thermometer are you using to measure temps and are you measuring air temps or on the bottom of the tank??
