I am a long time leo owner but im fairly new at breeding and still have trouble with genetics. I just had a pair of mine produce their first clutch of eggs. I bought them as a female red stripe het raining red stripe and a male las vagas albino pos. het raining red stripe. I was wondering what all morphs could be produced and what percent i have of getting them. thanks alot.

I am blunt, so here goes.

no such thing as pos het redstripe because they are line bred polygenetic.

You will get 50% rainwaters and 50% non rainwaters and they will have redstripe influence.

Oh ok. I was just going on what the breeder had told me. what would I have to breed my female with to get raining red stripes?

Denver it really depends on the Red stripe influence involved in the animals.

If the male also has redstripe genes (you mentioned it's possible het), then you may reproduce some RRS. Where did you purchase your animals?

They should produce some rainwater redstripes of some degree, but a RRS would be a high quality one.

Don't believe everything you read, some people don't know genetics, others embellish at times;)

Too late, Mr. RRS answered:main_thumbsup:

I got them both from the indy reptile show from aubrey's reptiles. He told me they would produce raining red stripes but wanted to see what you all thought. I can post some photos later tonight.
