Well some of u all know the problem with the female gecko. My lady is depressed about it and the vet was ZERO help "she is underweight" thanks for the news flash doc.

I am going to be attending the NY reptile show on the end of the month To try to help cheer her up but i donno.

What are the chances that someone pretty local MIGHT have a female to replace hers. I really wanna cheer her up and im feeling guilty as hell also since i put the male in there and started this whole thing :(

I am not giving up on the gecko in no way but it isnt looking good as of now she is at 35g.

Thanks all

Alex, your gecko doesn't need 'cheering up'.... they actually thrive better housed singly. Perhaps your female is ovulating early, and this could be the reason she is not eating and losing weight.

Another thing to consider is the proper quarantine for newly acquired geckos. If your gecko has an infection that was not diagnosed, or if a new gecko does, housing them together would be very dangerous.

Make sure your gecko's environmental conditions are met... 90 degree belly heat on one portion of her enclosure, and plenty of calcium.

Keep trying Marcia's slurry and find another vet pronto! It would be a lot better to try and save the gecko you have rather than just resigning yourself to "replacing" her.

I hope that this vet can help you with your girl. Best wishes. Don't give up on her. These little ones are so resilient. You would be amazed at what they can come out of!!!!
