its the end of my first year of breeding and i need help ID'ing this baby(now 30 grams). it was my first year so i did the classic "put a male and a female together who cares that its not the best combo" well this is my last baby to be sold the parents were SHTCT X Mack Snow het tremper (i dont know the het to my SHTCT). well i know it should be a tang but is it just a tang or is it a hypo or something like that? heres the pic

It would be a hypo because it has body spots but not that many. It's really hard to say whether or not it's a tang. On the one hand, the body color, at least from the picture, doesn't really seem to be tang, but it does have those tang bars on the back which look quite nice. I've produced a few like that. People are very inconsistent about what they call tang. If you want to be really precise, you could call it a hypo with tang markings. It would also be 50% het for Tremper albino (i.e. has a 50/50 chance of being het).

her markings are very dark and when she hatched she did look like a tang. i never knew about the 50% het tremper. thanks, i'm putting her online and i just wanted the info to be correct. this is kinda a dumb question but for a first time breeder would she be a good holdback? i was thinking about it when she was young because she had lots of green and now that she is older her green is fading away (like it usually does) but she is very dark which seems unusual to me. my camera sucks its always makes things lighter then they are.

Lots of geckos have green as they mature because that's what color the black turns as it fades. The question always is, what will happen when they finish fading. As far as whether she is a good holdback, it really depends on what you want to produce. If you like that look, want to go for more of that and have an appropriate male to do that with (or can get one) she should be a good holdback. Otherwise, not.

well i dont have a male and i dont want to struggle trying to find a male for her so shes not going to be a holdback. sooo shes a hypo with tang marking 50% het tremper albino? or should i just say hypo tangerine 50% het for tremper albino?

It's up to you. Certainly there are people calling a gecko that color "tang"; I may even have done that myself, though I'm trying personally to be stricter about what I call a tang. Just make sure you know exactly what "50% het Tremper" means in case anyone asks you about it.

QUIZ TIME : 50% het Tremper means, (from what you said) that there is a 50% chance that the gecko is het Tremper, right? i think i'll say its a hypo tangerine just because it has alot of spots on the back. then if later the person disagrees and says its a hypo then so be it.
