I have an 18x18x18 exo-terra glass viv and need some ideas on what to do with it. I am going to be getting a pair of North American Giant millipedes next month(actually in 2 weeks eesh). Wanted to know what else I can put in there to make a real viv. Any ideas or pics would be so greatly appreciated. I was planning on getting some isopods for the soil, but that was pretty much it. Thanks

I'd say make it look like a forest floor. Lots of dead leaves, dirt, and some real nice pieces of cork bark (slabs, tubes, ect.). I wouldnt put any live plants in there, they'd get eating i believe. Some fake ferns would be awesome to tie the look together.

Who is selling the millipede? ;) You could pick up a crestie and have a moss floor. They would love that. They will actually eat the crested geckos poo! So you rarely need to clean.

I have no clue who I am getting the milli from ;). LOL Some kid named Matt. Heard he's nice. I have a crestie, a wee 4 gram crestie. Could have some with that. Forgot that I have a 20 tall tank sitting and collecting dust in my kitchen. Might still have to stick to a 10 gallon because the crestie is so small. Could possibly get another one though :main_rolleyes:

I did it!!!

OK I set up the terrarium and it looks cool!!!. I decided to split the tank in half and do a semi-aquatic tank. I have live plants with frog moss. I used coco fiber mixed with potting soil for the plants. I used a tetra repto filter to filter the water and get the cool waterfall effect. I am planning on housing the millipedes and am thinking of getting a pair of green anoles and some green tree frogs. Though I am leaning toward fire belly toads in stead. What do you think? Hope you like the pics. Sorry for the murky water pics, couldn't wait for the water to settle after setting it up. I have a repti-glo 5 for the anoles, a 50 watt Sun Glo for incandescent full spectrum for the plants and a 60 watt red bulb for night heat and a dripper for added humdity and for drinking. Leaning toward adding a danio or two to the water too. Might be too much. Opinions are welcome.

You are so not going to believe this!

I had to go back to the petstore to return something I didn't need and there was this guy fighting with his girlfriend in the parking lot. Turned out she had bought a ton of stuff for him as birthday present and he walked in on her and his best friend in their birthday suits(eesh). He was returning everything because he didn't want anything she gave him. Well I was walking in and he asked me if there was anything I wanted. Turned out he had the exo-terra fogger in the bag. I asked if I may have that and he said sure "Merry Christmas" and went inside the store. I went in and offered to pay for it and he said no. So now I have a fogger in my tank and it looks awesome!!! Now I just have to see how the humidity does after a little while of it running to see where I stand.

Tetra's are cool little fish. My favorite are Runnynose tetras. I have a school of 5 and they are so cool. They are clear with a red nose. I would take a pic but my camera is at the house I am house sitting. I came home long enought too check emails, check on all my leopard geckos amd grab my fishing pole lmao.

The humidity goes anywhere from 50-80%, from everything I read that should be ok for an anole. I never really got into day geckos. Dean, the bf, surprised me today with 2 new additions. He got me an albino african dwarf frog and a fire bellied newt. They are cute. The fogger makes the tank look so good. So glad I got it.

Well I didn't get my anoles or green tree frogs. I did however get a trio of fire belly toads. They are so cute. Right now they are all enjoying a bowl of waxworms as a welcome home treat. In fact everyone in the house is enjoying them tonight. Hope everyone had a good time at Hamburg.

the tank is a 20 tall. I had fire bellied toads and fire bellied newts but for some reason I just couldn't get the environment right when I had them in there. I had problems with fungus and water quality, no matter how much I cleaned. I finally broke the tank down and now I use it for my leo.
