Hey everyone, hows it goin.

I need a little help in regards to feeding my geckos feeder roaches.

I put 3-4 speckled feeder roaches in their enclosure at a time. usually you see 1 or two get eaten but the other runs and hides under the paper towel. How do i stop them running and hiding?. I cleaned out my tank today and found 2 roaches living quite happily under the paper on the warm side.

My geckos do not like being handled just yet so thats not an option. what else can i do to make sure both my geckos are getting fed? and make sure that the roaches dont run and hide under the paper?

Thanks-

Darren.

Darren,
Just leave them in there... Eventually the roaches will come out and your gecko will snap them up... Your leo will find them eventually... Or you can just feed your geckos in a tank or bin with no substrate and nothing for the roaches to hide in or around..

Madden,

What if by the time the roaches are eaten their gut load is nil - what will the nutritional worth be?

I know that if I put one of my geckos in another tank to eat, she would just stress out. She is a secret eater (at night) of crickets - that's it.

I use a dish to hold the roaches; I put in one at a time. When the gecko eats it, I'll put another one in. But I usually just give my gecko 30 seconds to decide whether they want to eat or not. If they don't jump on the roach right away or at least stare at the roach, I'll take their food away and they'll have to wait for their next feeding day. ;)
