I know we cant mention *****e or PetSmrat, BUT ive been seeing a lot of videos on youtube about users new leopard geckos from these places and many of them are suggesting some very interesting morphs. So far i can think of a bell, a blizzard, and another one that was said to have mack snow in it. Now please, tell me for those of you around the country that go to these stores, CAN THESE MORPHS BE PURCHASED IN THESE PET STORES? Because i go to two in two different towns and so far i have seen nothing more than normals, high yellows, SHTCT and patternless leos, all babies of course. I just want to know if any other morphs are showing up because i really doubt they are selling bells for 15 bucks. But i could be wrong...

I know the ones around us have bells, trempers, patties, blizzards, shtct, and some others all for 25-30 dollars, the stores don't differentiate morphs.

We have most of the morphs mentioned here in my area at the chains. One marks up the prices the other keeps them mostly at a flat rate and changes prices by size.

Well im from central PA and the stores dont seem to differentiate either, but i havent seen blizzards or bells yet, Trempers yes, i forgot to mention those. Also i have never seen an adult yet. 15 was a low price but 25 is the norm.

Betta, is it possible those 'midnight' blizzards you're seeing at those pet stores is more from being kept at too low a temperature than a genetic 'midnight'? I've seen the same thing, but I think poor husbandry conditions makes blizzards darker. Not that I'm saying the midnights that Garrick DeMeyer at crestedgecko.com is selling have bad husbandry issues (I've purchased several geckos from him in the past and can assure you he takes very good care of his reptiles), but it's a well known fact that darker colors are associated with cooler temps with leopards.

As for around here, I've seen mainly Tremper albinos, blizzards, and patties. The normals are nicer than wild-type normals, but in the past I've also seen super hypos and tangerines for sale at relatively low prices (~$35 for juvies).

At my local store they often have really nice SHT, some of them wit lots of carrottail and bald heads. they also have the usual trempers, patternless, hugh yellows, tangs, and once in a blue moon a blizzard.

I'm right next to philly and I have found plenty of blizzards, jungle, stripes and tangs with carrot tails. I havent see trempers or bells yet. All of them are cheap too. Funny thing is the normals are usually more cause they are larger.

The pet store where I got Tiamat had blizzards. Very nice ones too. And what looked to be a patternless. Looked healthy other than it's colors looked a little dark, but it had a nice tail on it.

I know they can be cheep but people that are buying these geckos are just supporting these giant chain stores and letting them continue business as usual. as long as they are selling them they will continue keeping and caring for them the way most of them do. which is POORLY!

We have morphs at our store (not ********) that sell for $159.99 each. A few weeks ago they had all the geckos used in a recent Telus commercial for sale too.

I don't understand why anyone would be concerned what the 'big-chain' pet stores are selling their geckos for.

Yeah, I could care less what they sell, and what they sell if for. There’s a difference when you buy quality reptiles (not sick, underweight, and underfed) from a quality breeder. Than when you buy a reptile from a pet store that will most likely die in a week, from puppy mill breeders, and shops that couldn’t care less about the reptiles they are selling. I think I’ll pay the extra money ;)

We have morphs at our local pet store, a small chain store, not the big boy chain store. I would say that leos are rare at this store, they are more into morphs. They have two breeders locally that they get the morphs from. I cannot remember the exact prices but under $60 for which ever you want.
