I just want to get some infomation on the nelson's milk. I wanted to get a corn, but I came upon these awsome guys.

I have a few questiosn that I hope you can answer.
1. What is the basic setup for a milk? Is it the same as a corn snake?
2. How are their temperment? Are they kind, do they bite or try to?
3. What size do milks need for a tank? I have a 20 gallon long, but I am buying a 30 gallon at the expo.
4. REALLY WANT TO KNOW: How long do nelson's milks become when they are full grown?
5. I plan on getting one of those albino milks, how much do you think their price range is?
6. Not a Q: If I do get a milk, I will be getting a hatchling at the next expo; August 31.

Thank you! :main_thumbsup:

Nelsoni grow to about 42", so you don't have to worry about them getting too huge. Like all milks they're usually a bit jumpy at first, but they settle down nicely with some handling. Yes, the basic setup is about the same as for a cornsnake. A UTH, some aspen bedding, a water bowl and a hide is all you really need. A 20 or 30 gallon tank is plenty big enough. As for price I would just look on the kingsnake classifieds and see what they're going for.

Here's a link that tells you the average length of all Lampropeltis subspecies, and it has a few pictures too.

You're welcome. There are many awesome cornsnakes, and they're pretty affordable too. Plus they are calmer than kings generally. I have some speckled kings that just wanna take my finger off, and my S. Georgia mosaic eastern male is kinda chompy lately as well. I wear gloves with him now. He probably just smells mice on me. Once I get rid of my feeder mice I'm hoping he calms down.
