Hi guys and gals,

Rebecca is :sick2:, so I thought I'd send her something nice and made my first youtube video EVER of her soon-to-be Bell, Janesha.

But the quality is totally crappy!!! What is this strange noise in the background? It was quiet in my room (not even a cricket chirping, for once!). Can it come from the camera? I have a Nikon Coolpix 12.1 megapixels. Is it possible to edit the noise away? If not, how can I insert a classic music piece (yep, for us older guys :p)?

Also, it is much too dark. I cannot take those videos outside (not in this weather, and with my big dogs running around). I had a ceiling lamp and a table lamp on, and still my green bedspread looks brown. Can one edit the light afterwards? Strangely, under the same conditions, a normal photo with this same camera comes out okay:

It could very well be the camera, most point and shoot or bridge cameras do not have stellar video quality, especially indoors. You could simply add in some music with youtube. Videos and pictures are two different situations entirely and a camera that is mainly built for the latter will not take very good video.
