While in a chain store (I know, I know) I was looking around the adoptable animals where normally there is just a rat or hamster that someone had dropped off when I spied a tank. Well one look in there and I fell in love. The little guy was born with a deformed foot. It's not bad, his foot is just turned in and looks a little weird. His slightly silly walk/run has earned him the name Gimpy. I'm a little curious as to if he is a morph or not, I'm not too good at telling what babies are. But I'm just glad I could provide him with a home that will do him (or her, too tiny to tell) a great forever home :)

And on a side note I'm scared to even pick the little guy up! There is quite a difference between him and my other leo. I'm just excited to be able to watch him grow and change.

Looks like he has some Metabolic Bone Disease. Do you have calcium for him? Proper heating? Moist hide, Warm hide and Cool hide? He's cute!

He has identical hides on either side, a water bowl, food bowl, moist hide in the middle, a bottle cap of calcium without D3, and a hot spot of 91*-93* and a light that keeps the ambient tems in the low to mid 80s during the day. I also taped cardboard around the outside to try and make him feel more secure. Almost identical setup I've been using for my Big (who decided to give me a nice bite today)

I had someone from another site say it looks like MBD also. If I continue with dusting his mealworms with vitamins and calcium could this be enough to help? I have been to a few "exotic" vets around here and haven't found one who I really trust.

I use Repashy Superfoods Leopard Gecko Plus Vitamin Mineral Supplement and I keep a small cap of the Rep-Cal calcium without D3 in with him all the time.

I haven't even had him a week yet and he has started sitting on top of his hides and will watch my rats and me xD

Thanks :) He seems to do just fine with his "gimpy" foot, he runs pretty quick!

He was watching me again today when I cleaned the rats out. I could just hear a little voice in my head saying "FEED ME!!!" xD I'm going to have to get him some more food at this rate.
