The first day I got her I witnessed her eat two crickets, she may have even ate three. And I know you guys are gonna yell at me, but I do not have the resources to separate them at the time, I threw probably five to seven crickets in there today while I was cleaning their water bowl, I saw her go after a few but didn't see her catch any, but I'm sure she ate some of them, doubt the little guy could take on all of them. He usually quits at about two or three crickets.
If you can't seperate them permanently I would at least suggest seperating her for feeding to make sure she is getting a fair share of the food. With her condition you REALLY need to be able to monitor her food intake esp. if you end up needing to take her to a vet. It will be somthing they will ask you and guesses really won't work. I hope you are working on getting her her own set up. It would likely mean her demise if she were to be bred in this condition. When you have her in her seperate feeding box maybe pull the jumper legs off a couple of the crickets to see if that makes it any easier for her to catch in her dilapidated state and of course supers would likely be the easiest for her to catch.
Okay I'm heading to the pet store that I just got hired at =) i'll pick up some worms before I leave.
And it's not that I don't care but to get another set up i'd need to buy a tank, $10, a heat pad, $15 ish maybe $20, some kind of bedding, AND on top of that the vet, which is gonna be at least $70 for just one of them. Not counting the medication. I'm trying to get my hands on the supplies for a lower price though.
Oh and my mother deemed her attempts "inconclusive" not that it would make a difference. The vet "must" examine her and do a fecal test before he can prescribe.
Congrats on your new pet shop job. At least you'll be able to get the male's set up with an empolyee discount He really does need it imo. With her current condition you really would lose her if she were to breed at this point. Sorry your mom couldn't get any conclusive results from her fecal exam. That's disappointing, but just feed seperate for now, even if you feed her (or him) in a plastic shoe box to make sure she's getting her nourishment. Who knows, her condition could just be from being under nourished, the previous eggs, and the male hogging all the food. When you get to work, check out T-Rex brand leopard gecko dust icb (I believe it's now thru sandfire superfoods) or repashy calcium plus lib. It's a complete suppliment and you won't need seperate calcium/D3. It's all in there.
Well I bought some mealworms and dropped a bunch in there and she ate a bunch! She was actually being a little aggressive to the male. The male a lot smaller, at least length wise.
YAY she's eating... but you're not feeding seperately... Boo... hopefully you will reconsider that now that you've seen she is hungry and defensive of her food before anthing bad happens to either of your leos.
Oh yeah! And after she ate I noticed she was rubbing her head against a hut trying to get the skin off so I placed her in the moist hut. She stayed in there for a little bit then left but she came back. So at least she knows it's there.
