Received this feisty guy via FedEx this morning. A regular Mack Snow het tremper albino possible giant, but from the looks of how long his body is, he'll more than likely turn out to be giant. He's a little bit dark from the stress of shipping and I was concerned to have him shipped during the cold weather but he made it okay and is enthusiastically exploring his cage and glass walking.
I think I'm going to have a little hellraiser on my hands because as soon as I took him out of the box he was bound and determined to fly out of my hands.

Thanks all. Unfortunately it looks as though he has a little tail kink at the very tip of his tail, but he's still a handsome little fella. I hear tail kinks are common in mack snows, is this right?

From what I hear. It is really based on how inbred they are when the gene is first developed. Patternless ran the same way for a while.

Nice new gecko! I like the palm tree paper towels. LOL

I have had almost no problems with kinked tails in Mack Snows, and do not feel it has been "common", at all. The only one I have ever hatched with a kinked tail, happened to be a Mack Snow Blizzard, and did not even hatch out that way.

The palm trees are actually non-adhesive shelf liner that I bought at Wal-Mart. Only 5 bucks for like I forgot how many square feet and the best part is you can throw the shelf liner into the washer to clean it with bleach or the dryer to dry it, it's reuseable many many times and I'm guessing each sheet I cut out can last me a year and I still have more on the roll of the shelf liner. Cheapest substrate hands down. :main_thumbsup: It also holds the UTH heat very well.

About the tail kink, it doesn't look as bad as I originally thought, it's to the point where you wouldn't notice it unless you really look for it.
Right now he's in quarantine in a seperate tank, I had to put Kalea & Laka together for a bit and there was no signs of aggression when first introduced so I'm happy for that. Though I will be seperating Kalea & Laka next week when I get a new tank. (Come to think of it, at this point I think I need a rack system instead of another tank if my collection gets any bigger).

He was born on 7-27-07
as far as how much he weighs, I attempted to weigh him after letting him settle down in the cup he was sent in for a couple hours, but he wanted to jump right out. Waaaay too skittish for me. I'm going to have to wait probably a couple weeks before I actually handle him, then I can get an accurate weight.
