Most of you may know, I brought home with me a beautiful BB(I think, care to tell me if I'm right?) named Lyra from Sallie H. of Decoy Geckos. So, here's some pictures of her, and the updates.

Thanks John! Actually, Lyra's the only new one; I've had the others for at least five months(Dusty a year or more).

It's refreshing to see a person of your age doing such a great job at keeping these guys... Sure it's really not that hard to do, but there's just so many distractions for kids...

My nephew is your age and he helps me out with my geckos from time to time... After a year I deciding he was ready to have his own... Well I gave him a rack, thermostat, thermometer, calcium, vitamins, gutload and six geckos (all males 'cause I didn't want him trying to breed them)... For several months I'd talk to my sister and he'd always be on top of their care... Then school gets out a few weeks ago and it's like he's forgotten about them... My sis' has been caring for them mostly now (-3 I took back)... He loves them, but he doesn't make time for them...

Anyways, they look awesome and keep up the good work... :main_thumbsup:

Thanks Michael, I always make sure they're happy and taken care of every day:thumbsup: I guess you could say reptiles are my life; I've always been interested in them. Thanks again!

i dont think age really has anything to do with it its more maturity and responsibility. then there is the fact that us younger folks get bad reps from the bad ones.

Awww, I love all your geckos they're all very beautiful, nice collection! I love seeing them ALL so healthy looking too! :) To many people make impussive buys w/ their pets, reptiles alot, and don't take time to learn or care for them properly. Honestly- hardest part of breeding, for me, is letting the geckos go! I fall in love w/ them, and always pray that they go to a loving home. Some younger people haven't done as well as you have to say the least! My brother got his 1st (and only) leo from me at 18, senior in high school. He wanted the gecko for all the wrong reasons- too show it off to everyone and never had the gecko's interest at heart, he never properly cared for him. I always went over w/ my mealies and cared for him, so thought it be O.K. Since I was taking care of him. But he also mistreated him too! When he told me the gecko even bitten him, that was it! I had to get him back- no matter what- the gecko I gave him was my fav, I didn't need him for breeding but didn't want to part w/ him either b/c of his awesome docile personality, my brother had already been bugging me for a long time about getting a gecko and was about to get one from the petstore, so I thought this is perfect this way I'd still see him. What a mistake! He's in a great home now and yes they do give bad reps. So this is great to see.

Thanks Henry and Jessica! The only problem is that now Dusty is too fat..diet time! He actually has rolls of fat, poor guy. Now I'm limiting his mealworms, but still feeding him every night. I love all my Leos, and would never get any for the wrong reason. Thank you guys so much for the stories and compliments too!
