Okay well I'm going for the natural look & overall I've spent less than 30$ all together. =) Gecko was free, from consignment, so I'll take any points and tips you have to offer. I'll include some pictures of the cage and set up & also my new gecko who is currently unnamed!

Yes yes yes, I'm using sand. I'm sorry, but this is what I was told to buy off hand. I have read about the risks of impaction and will continue with caution. I plan on buying repticarpet with the next pay check. the rock water bowl & hide were both donated from my boyfriend for free. & all the plan materials were half off at ACMoore. So I did pretty well. I made a moist hide by cutting a hole in a small tupperware container & filling it with some organic moss from home depot. I covered the bottom of the cage with some decorative pebbles to help reduce the risk of impaction. Please add any tips for my terrarium.

very nice the rocks make it neat looking
Another suggestion would be go to your local home depot and but linoleum 12x12 squares 88cents a piece my ten gallon used two.
Cut to fit and it heats up very nicely
Very cheap way repti carpet is on the expensive side for a flooring substrate IMO

I would say the Linoleum flooring would be the best but hey its your gecko and your cage
The linoleum provides great belly heat with the under tank heater and my gecko tends to like it so far so do what suits you and BTW if you decide to get the linoleum the back is adhesive I would advise not to stick it to the bottom of your cage it makes it easier to clean just to pop it out IMO

The rocks do look cool, but if I were you I'd go with linoleum, thats what I have. I just went to our down-home country hard ware store here & asked if they had any scraps. So they sold me at least 4 yards for only $3!! Its really easy to use, just measure the bottom of the tank, cut to fit & I used double sided tape to seal down the corners & any other places it might poke up. Its also VERY easy to clean, just a few wipes & your done, & unlike paper towels, you dont have to keep buying & replacing them. It also absorbs heat from the lamp & leos love belly heat. :main_yes:

Heres a link if you'd like to see my set-up (& my leo just had to be in the pic.s too...lol)
