i got a female albino leo gecko from petsmart about a week ago now and ive tried to get her to eat many times and i cant get her to eat anything, ive tried mealworms and crickets and i also left crickets in her cage with a little peice of potatoe so they wont hurt her but she hasnt touched those yet either....i did notice that shes eating sand tho like her poop is all sand so i know thats not good, does anyone have any suggestions on getting her to eat?

Well first get her off the sand, if you see her eating it, she’ll most likely be dead in a week.

Then how long have you had her? Sometimes they take a while to get to eat, as they are pretty stressed out.

I agree with Halley--getting her off of the sand would be best. I'd suggest using paper towels as substrate for her. I would also take her to the vet. Since you got her at a pet store, she might have parasites or worse. I personally have had horrible luck with two babies I bought from a pet store. :( As far as getting her to eat in the meantime, I've read on this forum that Marcia of www.goldengategeckos.com has a great recipe for a slurry to feed to geckos who are having issues with not eating properly. I hope this helps and good luck with her!

It may take her/him 2 weeks to eat. If she is small I would suggest small mealies(if you can get them) one of mine I had to finally rub the mealie on his nose a bit to finally get him to eat. Just be patient as changing homes can be very stressful. Also you said you got it from petsmart find out what they were feeding it as the one here in my town has switched to wax worms since they arn't getting in mealies and if that is the case waxies are very addictive and sometimes can make it harder to get them to eat other things.

mat for aquarium

I saw a kit for geckos at peico that has a mat like a scub pad for dishes. It is cut to size for the size aquarium you have . Pretty cheap too and you can rince them out and reuse. What do you guys think??
