I got a chocolate albino on Friday. Think she is a few months old as she is big enough to tell her sex and not as small as the babies i have.

She was housed in the pet store with 3 others and was fine. A bit squiggly with being picked up but nothing too bad.

She didnt seem too bad the first day, was exploring a lot and ate about 6 mealworms that i fed her with the tongs as she didnt want to come out of her moist hide and didnt seem to be able to see them very well just putting them on top of the hide.

From her eyes dilating i dont think she is blind and i know she isnt deaf as i have creaked my chair a few times and spooked her.

But today she has been really scared of everything. Even if i look at her in her hide she breathes really fast and seems terrified. If she is out wandering and someone goes anywhere near her she runs and hides as fast as she can.

Other than just leaving her alone is there anything i can do to help her? She is housed on her own but im planning to put her with Daisy after quarentine if she is big enough and they dont fight.

She pooped tonight (and in the right place woot!) so i know things are working right. She is just really nervous :(

Leaving her alone is a good idea. It sounds as if she's getting used to things. She'll calm down soon.

How bright are the lights in the room she's in? Sometimes keeping it a little dim can help the adjusting go quicker. And don't like, play Guitar Hero in the same room, etc. But usually, just time will help.

She is in my living room so its not too dim but shes not in direct sunlight either. She hasnt got a light in her tank. We try not to make too much noise or have the TV very loud and we dont have kids making a lot of noise.

She is spending quite a bit of time in her moist hide atm so im not sure if shes getting ready to shed.

Other than light is there any special consideration she will need? She didnt have any food last night but had eaten quite a lot the night b4. She isnt thin but her tail isnt fat either.

I'd agree with everyone, she's going to need time to adjust. I know if I was taken to a new place, and had several visiting giants in my house... I'd be a little spooky too. But it's def a good sign that she is eatting like she is, so just give it a bit and she'll come around.
