Hey everyone, I'm the new guy around just wanting to say hi. :)
I was just given a leopard gecko by a friend because he is moving and he's currently in a 20 gallon tank all by himself, the set up is pretty basic but I'm hoping he enjoys it.

Hope to see you guys around the forum some more.

Welcome! You want us to ForgetYou?? :main_laugh:
Maybe you should buy a girlfriend for your lonely gecko. Be careful, they're addictive :main_thumbsup:

In all honesty, I'd love to get him a girlfriend but that's kind of up to my dad, I was just given this guy by a friend after a lot of pleading, lol

Here are some kind of bad pictures taken of him with my phone, I can take some more but my sister who is gone for the week has it.

He doesn't like it when I'm near the tank to much, he kinds of hisses and it's weird. =/

He's also in a standard 20 gallon tank, is this big enough? He's roughly 5 inches and I was thinking about getting him a 30 gallon but I'm not sure if that will be to big.

Also I just have a general question on feeding, all I have near me is a *****/******** and all I've seen is crickets, should I look more for some meal worms and just let them sit in a bowl and have him snack as he pleases all day?

I also have a question about substrate, I've been reading sand can cause issues and I was wondering, would carpet be a good idea?

My tank is posted here on page 38 (bottom post) and I was wondering if I could get any criticism on how I can make it better... sorry again for the shots, my friend used the tank for fish so there are water stains on it. =/

carpet? as carpet for people or repticarpet?
Repticarpet is actually widely used and recommended by leo owners.

People carpet however, I've never heard of anyone using, but I wouldn't recommend it because of the mess.

You can use just paper towel if you have it

Sorry, was talking about the repticarpet, but I'm actually going to make the switch to tile soon, just once he'll let me pick him up and put him in a spare 10 gallon while I make the change, lol. :)
