Hi there! I've wandered across this site while on my research around the internet. I am not very good at forum sites but I'll probably just lurk around and look for more people to talk about lizards to. I've have my first reptile for almost a year now and currently have 3 in total!

Mango was bought off a family who only had her for two months then got bored of her. No background or breed info so I'm assuming she's a normal from the local pet store.

Bean is the newest addition bought this past weekend from Vancouver Island local breeders DNL Leopards. She is a Mack Snow Het Tremper Albino. The girls there mentioned she was pretty unique to her siblings in pattern but I believe she looks fairly standard? She also has red albino eyes.

And as a little bonus, Meet Yoshi. He is a Indonesian Blue Tongue Skink with a nervous huffing habit. Currently I am working on taming him.

Welcome to GF! Nice pictures, except that the links to both Mango and Yoshi go to the same picture. If Bean really has albino red eyes then she's not het for Tremper but she is a tramper. Based on her coloring, I wonder if she's just a really dark tramper.

Welcome! Haha, I had this moment of, "Uh... Mango's a skink?" I hope you'll repost a picture of her.

I would get in touch with your local breeder to clarify because Bean really does look albino, not het for albino.

Cool BTS. I have a Northern myself.

Hi and welcome. I lived in Canada (Ontario) for three years (03-06), I really liked Canada even though the winter was long... kind of miss Tim Hortons! I hope also you replace or repost the picture.

Sorry guys! Here is Mango.
Cute Leo Here

Mango was pretty much in the oddest set up I have seen in a long time. Luckily no sand but she had a water dish that was way bigger than her, two huge hides that looked like they took up more space then they offered, and both a UTH and a red heat bulb. so they gave me everything minus the tank for 30 bucks. She does have a regenerated tail because of a run in with a cat while she was not in my care but it seems to have grown back nicely.

As for bean I have no idea. They were selling albinos for around $150 but I made sure the main guy wrote down her mix so I would always have what her genes are. I read somewhere that their red eyes can fade? I suppose we will have to see.

As for food, Mango is quite picky and only wants to eat mealworms or waxworms (which I only sometimes feed when mixed with mealworms in a dish). I got her medium crickets but shes quite lazy and pulling their back legs off does not entice her at all. In some cases the cricket will brush her lightly and she will recoil in disgust! A fellow friend mentioned I should just keep offering crickets until she gets hungry enough to eat them but I don't want her to starve or anything.

Bean on the other is very active, she has been sleeping but will come out for a min or two every so often. The breeder told me to keep her on tiny mealworms for a while but I'd like to switch to Pin Heads since they are better for the gecko. Also when she hunts she will often loose track of the worm and not be able to find it or look in the wrong area. Shes eaten out of the dish and has already learned where the dish is! But I've found that the best way is to feed her with tweezers, once the worm brushes her face she can usually get it from the tweezers.

Bean is also in a darker area (shelf under Mango's tank) due to space and her sensitive eyes! I have a Digital IR Thermometer and all temps check out for both tanks. Mango's warm is 89-94f then 70f cool and Bean's is 85-90f with cool around 68-70f.

I'll be happy to provide any more info and hope you can give me some advice. Thanks guys!

I like the ideea of custom wood houses. I also made the inclosure myselph but I used glass. I made the hideout from a piece of wood that normally goes in an aquarium. I also put some rocks around since I was going for a natural look. It looks good but I had to carve a lot on the inside of the wood because there wasn't much space. I also like what you did. It looks veri colorfull neet and pracical.
