Hey all I guess I'll start by introducing myself I've been keeping tokey geckos for a few years now, kept snakes before then. But I really fell in love with these little lizards. The only downside is I've been recently shopping for a female tokey and either I find them and I can't be specific about which sex, or I just don't find them. I started looking for a female about 3 months ago because unfortunately I lost mine due to a temp reader malfunction and it got to hot. I've been putting off getting another female for a little while now because before my female passed away she laid 2 clutches of eggs. I read that unless the moms there once hatched the male will try and kill the eggs\offspring so I decided to try and pull one clutch out (doing this killed the other clutch because of how they were laid) Its been a little over 2 months since I pulled the eggs out and my male seems to be getting depressed. eating less, less active, more grumpy when he is out so I decided I needed to really get to looking for him another companion. Anyone know where I could specifically order a female? The place I rescued these guys from haven't had any since, and after talking with the manager it doesn't seem they will get any

Welcome to the (not very active) forum. I check it nearly every night so I'll respond when I can. I don't know much about Tokays but a first step would be to google "tokay for sale 2016" and see who's breeding. That would get you Tokays in better shape than a rescue would be, and healthy Tokays are essential for successful breeding. If you can't remove the eggs from the enclosure, you can tape a deli cup over them to protect the offspring when they hatch.

Gosh lots of geckos haha tokeys are the first gecko I've kept I like their unique look tho. I miss my beardies I had 3 at one point and they were eating me out the house with crickets, I found these little buggers called dubia roaches after I had my two tokeys for a while, alot easier to breed and keep the roaches and cheaper in the long run. I've been thinking about getting some dart frogs or tree frogs. I wanna make a good Moss terrarium first and give it some time to really bloom before I throw frogs in it
