Hello everyone;
My name is Suzanne, and we currently live in Eastern Canada. I found the site by cruising and looking for ANYTHING that would help me with the two new members of our family that I seem to have inherited.
Our daughter rescued a Leopard Gecko (Muschu) and then rescued a Bearded Dragon (Feya). Friends of friends who though having these animals was "cool"...the Gec was in a tank with sand that it had for 3 YEARS...no changes, dehydrated etc.... and Feya was skinny, dry and cracked looking, and VERY non-social. Almost a year later they are both seemingly content and willing to let us touch/talk to them. Feya loves to be cuddled now.
We have them set up in what I feel are appropraite homes, but will be reading, reading, reading .....
I am loving some of the threads, and the pictures are fabulous. To be honest I was not a fan of the dragon or the Gec (or anything other than our dogs, cat and fish lol) until I began to be their caregiver a few months ago...amazing how the little buggers grow on you.
But I am TOTALLY ignorant of what they may or may not need. To be honest, the more "pet care specialists" I talk to the more scared I become... in almost ALL areas they contradict each other ....
So here I am, to learn, to ask and to hopefully help Muschu and Feya live a long and happy life in our home ! I need SERIOUS help .....
