I don't care for pyromelena as much as I like knoblochi. But knowing me I`m sure I`ll end up with a Pair or 5 ;). Also keep me updated on those Possible Hets!

Knoblochi is a subspecies of Pyromelana, check it out.

I went for the pyros because they're an affordable way to possibly hatch an albino. The male is just a hatchling, but the female is a good sized yearling. So I'll probably be able to breed them in 2 years, if I can get the male to eat that is. He refused a live pinkie the other day. Next I have to try washing one w/ soap & water.

Well what I meant is I prefer these guys more then Pyromelena pyromelena. I just love the natural variation a bit more, I mean with Knoblochi you have so much natural variation!

Nice snake!! I had one for a few years and he was great. I myself prefer the pyros. I still don't have one though. I live in AZ so it is a little harder to get one since it is illegal to sell them here and illegal to import them. So unless you can sneak one across the border or know someone that has some, you gotta catch one and MAN are they hard to find!!

Isn't it weird how pyros are illegal to sell in Arizona and Zonata are illegal in California? I know what you mean about them being hard to find. I've never seen a mountain king. Guess I need to go hiking more. I live in the San Bernardino/San Gabriel mountains, but only at 3,200' elevation. I know they're a little more common up the road in Wrightwood, but I have heard of them being found here in Lytle Creek.

I heard the recent mountain king book has some good maps too, but I don't know if they're for zonata only or for pyros too. I think Brian Hubbs wrote it.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure we Californians are not allowed to buy them from out of state sellers either. I've seen them advertised before, but the ads usually say "No Californians". Lame. Someone suggested I buy that mountain king book for the maps.

Well I was looking at Bob's site and on his price list he had Zonota Agalma listed.

Has your knoblachi eaten yet? I'm gonna try and feed my hatchling pyro again today if I've got some newborn pinkies. It's a pretty tiny snake. The yearling eats great though.

Shes eaten twice, she struck the first Anole Scented Pink without hesitation, and she ate a non-scented Pink perfectly!

Yeah, I want to get that book. I am pretty sure it is for zonatas too. I have heard of a couple of places here that people have found them at. I guess there is a small population of them around the grand canyon. I try to go and look for them every year, but still have not found one. I know a few people that breed them that said I am welcome to one, but the past 2 years they either didn't breed or the eggs were not fertile. Still waiting for that. = )
