Hi all. I'm a life long critter keeper and have just gotten into reptiles. After some reading I decided a Leo would be a good way to start, and got a male and female off Craigslist. They're sharing a 20g tank but it's still coming together. Soon, I'd like to have them in a bigger tank, and have it in such a way to simulate their natural environment. Anyway, I see there's a wealth on information on these forums as many questions I have are already asked and answered.
I have two Chihuahuas, and used to keep and breed cockatiels and parakeets. I was a member of Rocky Mountain Society of Aviculture, and kept foster birds for them. I don't do birds anymore.

Welcome to GF! My first (teenage) dream was to breed parakeets and I found leopard geckos a good alternative. I assume you realize that keeping a male and female gecko together will lead to breeding. Check out the differences between bird and reptile eggs, the most important being that reptile eggs shouldn't be turned. Enjoy your geckos!

I suspect my geckos were intended to breed but did not, and that was the reason that person offered them for sale. Both appear healthy, and I've read of some changes to their environment that might help. I'm in the process of finding a reptile vet to confirm their sex.
