Hello,
I just got my first leopard gecko a few days ago. He/she is a juvenile, I have done quite a bit of reading and studying and found what maybe a few issues with him/her, and was wondering if someone could help clear these things up.
1.)He/she squints one eye at a time alot, first the right for a little and then the left.
2.)He/she has some trouble catching crickets, are they possibly too big? I have been giving it meal worms for now so it at least has some nutrients ( I dust the worms and gut feed them).
3.) He/she has been active during the day lately.

What should I expect from a juvenile leopard gecko? And are the above listed anything serious?

I have a picture of him/her attatched, so if someone could see if he/she looks healthy?
My apologies for the red glare, my DSLR doesnt like the redlight too much lol.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated, I love the little thing already and just want to provide it with the right care.

Congratulations on your new gecko. Everything sounds fine so far. It's not unusual for them to squint sometimes and is only a problem if the same eye stays closed all the time or looks swollen. Likewise, geckos don't always keep a strict day/night schedule just like we don't. I have a number of geckos that aren't good with crickets, either because they're kind of clumsy or because they aren't that interested. Mealworms are fine. You could also try superworms because they move more than mealworms but not as fast as crickets. Enjoy your gecko and try not to worry too much ( we all do, though).
