New Leopard Gecko Owner!

hi i just got my gecko yesterday, and he/she is very shy and cute! he has a 10 gallon tank, with repti carpet, a hallow log to hide in, a box to hide in with a moist paper towel, a log with fake plants,a calcuim dish, and a water bowl. i am getting more stuff soon. He wakes up at about 8:30 pm and goes to bed at 8:00. he has 50 wattage bulb. His name might be Meejee, but i dont know yet.


Pleas tell me if i am missing anything.

You need an Under Tank Heater.

You also need a humid hide box. I use moist paper towels as substrate in the box.

i just added moist papertowel to her hide box. he now has a hiding spot. moist box, and just got a log for him to climb on. Thanks for help!

You could exchange the bright day light bulb for a red light or black light. Leopard geckos are nocturnal, and their eyes are light sensitive. They don't need bright light; they would hide from it :main_yes:

I never use water bowls as high as this. A simple peanut butter jar lid works fine, and you can use one for mealworms and for the calcium, too. This one here looks like a whirlpool for the gecko

Apart from that, very nice set-up!

Looks like my little Gecko!! One thing I do not see. A digital thermometer to watch your temps and a dimmer or thermostat to regulate your UTH.
