Got My First Leopard Gecko 2days ago, im so excited, i will post pic when i can get a good enough pic. Hes all yellow with brown spots on head with a white tail and brown spots. Also on his backhe has 2 bigger brown spots.

Every day ive changed water changed mealworms cleaned poop, ive left my hand still he comes over and lick my finger than walks away everytime, is this him still wary of me? im eager to pick him up, but im a lil scared lol i know when i do pick him up i be ok, i was the same with my snakes scared at first then i loved handling them.
So when can i pick him up any signs he may show that i should leave him alone?

Thanks

Congrats on your new pet. I would wait a week or 2 to let your gecko settle in. Sounds like you are doing a great job. It's a good sign that he isn't running away the minute your hand is in there. Just take it slow as ease into it

If he's not running the second you open the tank then your on the right track. I always wait a week from bringing any reptile home. Few more days will go fast. My big male acts like a lump on a log when picked up. He's content just chillen in my palm, he's also 6 years old though. Good luck to you.

My Leo still not eating he had none today thats 5 mealworms in 4 days, i know he can be stressed with new home etc but he seems happy enough not skitish and he walks nicely on hand no problem. I rang pet store who said give it another 4 days or so if still same give them a ring. Im just getting worried as i here as young geckos they can eat 10 mealworms a day. Can size mealworm be a problem? The size i have are approc 30mm/3cm hes approx 16 weeks.

Thanks in advance

His age really wont help much as we dont know his size, a pic would be nice, any pic. Some leos go off food when they get stressed or if they have their feeders/suppliments changed. What are your temps, what suppliments, have you tried other feeders and if possible whats his weight. Itd be good to just get a full body shot of him so we can see his shape, size(proportions) and thickness.

Will get a better pic soon. This morning was a suprise he ate 7 mealworms by tongs.
Tried crickets dosent seem interested. I have him on Nutrobal which is a calcium+vitamin for geckos. Weight not sure but will try locate some scales that will work.
Current Temps are 87.1 hot end 76.8 cool end

Really appreciate help and the quick replies.

Arggghhhhhh just noticed my leo has also shed skin hes a nice bright yellow but still has some lose skin on his rear toes. I guess he ate the shedding as he looks rather fat, his tail still a lil thin. Maybe he been off his food due to shedding??
Also seems to be getting some nice bright orange appearing on his tail.

Thank sagain

A moist hide will help him get some of the shed skin off his toes. When geckos eat their shed, that often fills them up for a while, that could be the reason he is off his food.

Thanks again

Do they go off there food before a shed as that seems tobe the case, he seems to be more lively too.
