......Almost. If hubby's cordless drill's batteries were charged it would have been done!! I can never figure out a man that has power tools and doesn't know how to take care of or use them!! :main_no:

If my math is right I should be able to get 8 shelves of 6 shoebox tubs, but I could be off a little bit and be able to make it 9 shelves! I'll know once the battery for the drill is charged. :main_rolleyes:

Here's the shelves that I'm useing. I went with the 14.75' x 48". A little pricey at $11.99 per shelf, and 11 or 12 of them to complete. I'm also using .25" x 2" x 4' strips of wood as a lip to stop the tubs from going through the other side.

very nice I never thought about using those shelves for a rack, I could make a little one for myself in no time.

Where did you get those at lowes?

Thanks! I got them at Home Depot, but I'm sure Lowes would have them too. If you do use these, it's best to place the tubs on there and use about 8 index cards or a single CD (not the case) across the tubs so that there is a enough room to allow the tubs to pull in and out smoothly, without room for the hatchlings to squeeze out.

Thanks Guys and Gals.

All done building. Just need to get some flexwatt and two thermostats and we're ready for the new room! I'll be building another one like this in a few weeks. :main_yes:

Back view with the lip so the tubs don't go too far.

Very nice, Felicia!! Plenty of room for all those little babies, now! :) For a little while, anyway... seems like we always need more space for hatchlings!

Thank you, Nancy. Including my other rack I can now house 84 hatchlings. I'll be building one more like this one and then I may purchase or build some adult racks, really depends on cost.
