i am new to this site and just getting into leopard geckos. i have a albino and a tremper albino i have had for a few years now but this last weekend i picked up a couple new ones that i have no idea what they are. the vendor i got them from had good prices and i liked the looks but he said he got some eggs misplaced in his incubator so he couldn't say what the genetics were so i was wondering if anyone on here would have any clue? the one he said was a tangerine possible some sort of raptor and the other he couldn't even guess. thanks in advance for any help anyone could give.

Welcome to GF and the world of expanding gecko collections. Now you realize that no one can tell you anything about the "hidden" genetics, for instance, if a gecko has a gene for albino that doesn't show up. I can tell you that neither is a raptor because as far as I can tell neither is an albino. The first one looks to be a superhypo tangerine. The second one looks like a blizzard but I'm not familiar enough with albino blizzards to know whether or not it's an albino.

I'm a bit concerned that the vendor doesn't know that the second one is a blizzard. Ideally, you'd be able to contact him and he'd tell you (based on the breeders he has) what the possible breeders are. If he actually told you that the first one may be a raptor and he doesn't know what the second one is, I even wonder whether he actually bred them or got them from somewhere and doesn't know much about leopard geckos. This is just a shot in the dark since I don't know what he actually told you.

Good luck with them.

Thanks, yea I know nobody can tell hets or unshown genes I just wana know where to staft looking at what they may be. At his table earlier in the day hewas asking another guy somethin about the geckos and that guy was gone when I got them. I think they shared a table cause he knew a lot about the ball pythons that they had. I thought it was odd they couldn't have more of an idea. I just liked the looks and price so I wante them either way. Thanks again for your help I appreciate it.
